U.S. Dollar against the Yen

U.S. dollar falls to lowest position in the seven-month approached the main level of 90 yen in Asia on Monday (14 / 9) due to decline again on Wall Street and the weakening of bond yields on U.S. states to encourage investors to put their money elsewhere.

U.S. dollar slid to 90.19 yen, levels last seen in mid-February. In late trading in Tokyo, the U.S. dollar was at 90.58 yen compared to 90.64 yen in New York, late Friday.

Meanwhile the euro fell to 1.4533 dollars from 1.4573 dollars and a 131.62 yen from 132.12 yen. “U.S. Dollar loses sparkle,” said Societe Generale strategist, Kenichi Yumoto.

Greenback hit by expectations that U.S. interest rates will remain low for some time in the middle of a weakening economy, thereby reducing the appeal of assets denominated in dollars.

“I do not think the dollar bearish sentiment of investors will change this week,” said Hiroshi Maeba, senior dealer at Nomura Securities, told Dow Jones Newswires.

“The players should be ready for the dollar decline below the key psychological level of 90-yen this week every time.”

Some data will come out this week, including manufacturing, inflation, housing, and retail, will offer a fresh glimpse of the country in the world’s largest economy (U.S.).

“Economic data will help determine whether U.S. interest rates kept falling lower and if turned up in September in the equity markets can survive,” said NAB Capital strategist John Kyriakopoulos in a notebook.

The market was wary of the possibility of intervention by the Swiss central bank (SNB) to put limits on the surge francs to protect exporters. SNB had intervened in the market since March to curb the progress of francs. “The main point of this week is whether the SNB will indicate that the intervention would increase the likelihood that other banks will follow,” Yumoto said.

Dollar traded at 1.0408 Swiss francs in trading in Tokyo, up from 1.0376 in late Friday.

Against Asian currencies, the dollar rose to 1,225.05 South Korean won from 1,221.75 won on Friday, to 1.4258 Singapore dollars from 1.4222, and to 32.66 Taiwan dollars from 32.63 dollars.

Dollar naik menjadi 9.955 rupiah Indonesia dari 9.925 rupiah dan menjadi 48,41 peso Filipina dari 48,28 peso, sedangkan terhadap mata uang Thailand stabil di 33,96 baht.
