IMF: Global Crisis Not End yet
The world community seems to still have to tighten his belt. Therefore, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) warned that the economic crisis will not end any time soon despite the existing positive signs from some countries that have the largest economy in Europe.
It was revealed IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn ahead of G-20 meeting which will be held in Pittsburgh, USA, 24-25 September. According to Dominique, is still much work that needs to be addressed, especially with regard to regulation in the financial sector.
“Too much to think about, not only by ordinary people, but also the politicians. The financial crisis was behind us,” Strauss said, as quoted in an interview with German weekly, Der Spiegel, last week.
He added that not much can be expected from the economic growth in some European countries. “Global economic crisis will continue despite the fact that Germany and France managed to score a positive economic growth in the last quarter,” he said.
Only, Strauss deplored, that the condition does not create new job opportunities in both countries will be wide open. He even predicted the unemployment rate will continue to increase, at least for one year to the next.
To restore these conditions, the payment system in the financial services sector must be addressed again and the action that needs to be done is to tighten regulation of capital for the banking industry. Because it was, Strauss hopes, G-20 meeting in Pittsburgh will generate new momentum for economic recovery of the world.
