Ben Bernanke: Recession Possible Big End

american_economyGovernor of Central Bank of the United States (U.S.) Ben Bernanke say the worst global economic crisis has happened since 1930 has ended. Unfortunately, Governor of the Fed’s statement has not been able to prevent the spiraling unemployment rate in the U.S. which currently reaches 15 million people.

Ben Bernanke said the economy appeared to grow well, away from the worst global recession since 1930. Unfortunately, it is not enough to prevent rising unemployment rate, which is now at 9.7 percent level. This figure be an highest level in 26 years. “From the technical side, the current recession apparently has ended,” Bernanke said, as quoted by the Associated Press, Wednesday (16/9/2009).

Nevertheless, the economy will still be under pressure for some time, with a very slow growth. “The reason people are still going to seek certainty and security of sources of income, and status of their jobs,” he said.

Meanwhile, with expectations of slow economic recovery, the Fed predicted that the U.S. unemployment rate will still be touching the 10 percent level and the highest record in 2009. In the post-war recession of two, could reach the highest level at 10.8 percent in 1982 and the end.

High unemployment also continued effort to decrease, although not significant. Some analysts predict the economy, unemployment rates could come down to normal levels, five per cent, at least in the next four years.
